| About Me I have been writing since I was a teenager. "Angst" was my middle name and I wrote to explain me to me. Poems, letters, diaries, short stories, limerics, you name it. I wrote my first novel, a Star Trek story, in 1978. Luckily for the world of fiction, it still resides in a box, unpublished. I look back on that finished manuscript as an accomplishment. In those days we wrote on typewriters with carbon paper and correcting tape. The fact that it was ever completed was nothing short of a miracle. After years of thinking about writing, I took my first workshop in January 2005. The Medici Prince, a novel about Cosimo I de Medici and Eleonora of Toledo, the second Duke and Duchess of Florence. Part One, The General's Son was my Thesis for my Masters in Arts in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University. Part Two, The Emperor of Florence is the completion of their story. The story is based upon twenty years of research. My next novel, An Illustrious Woman is the story of Sofonisba Anguissola, a Sixteenth Century woman artist who studied with Michaelangelo and gave lessons in art to Antony Van Dyck. The common thread with these three stories is not only the time period, but the fact these are undiscovered stories of people who were admired by their contemporaries, yet forgotten with the passing of years. It is my joy to write these stories, to bring these people to life, so that others can get to know and love them as I do. I have also discovered that I have a flair for humor and have just started two new contemporary romantic comedies. Writing has become a huge part of me! | |
